 Easter Window
Children from Brays School in Yardley have been showing off their artistic flare this Easter through the creation of a fantastic front window display at the Beaufort Florist shop on Coleshill Road in Hodge Hill.
The idea for the involvement of the school children came from a discussion between shop owner Damien Wood and his neighbour Caron Davis, who is a class teacher at Brays School. Caron worked with the children to produce carefully crafted lettering to spell the word ‘Easter’, a huge yellow egg and various other items which were then taken to the shop where the children worked with Damien’s team at Beaufort to create the shop front window display which will remain in place for the three week Easter period.
Caron told the Gazette “this is the first time we have done something like this at Brays School. All of our pupils are disabled children and it was a wonderful piece of work to be involved in. The children worked with great skill and enthusiasm on this project and it was fabulous that we could all go along to the shop to actually put everything in place. It has been a great exercise in art and design for the children with a very real result at the end of it which can be viewed by the whole community in Hodge Hill. We are really delighted and now we’re wondering what other offers might come our way in the future!”
